n-gon was created primarily with JavaScript using the matter.js 2-D physics library, as well as with HTML and CSS. The code is free and open-source and can be found on [https://github.com/landgreen/n-gon GitHub]. [[Community maps]] and [[mods]] are a major part of the game.

Landgreen first worked on the games "mech", "spacetime", "ballistiscs", and "portal", which are now seen as the predecessors to n-gon. There were then versions of the games "sidescroller" and "LandGame", before the first official version of n-gon came out in 2018. Check the [[history]] page for more info.
