There's another NGON; did you perhaps mean that one?

n-gon (stylized in all lowercase) is a 2018 American browser 2D roguelike physics-based platformer game made by Ross Landgreen. Described as a "2d roguelike sidescroller", its main focus is using realistic/theoretical weapons, abilities, and technology to upgrade the playable character m, and fight dangerous mobs, as you travel through multiple maps. n-gon has been described as "the Yotsuba of browser games" and was nominated for the title of 2025 n-community favorite game.

n-gon was created primarily with JavaScript using the matter.js 2D physics library, as well with HTML and CSS. The code is free and open-source and can be found on GitHub. Community maps and mods are a major part of the game.

The game features multiple Difficulties, Training Mode, Experiment/Testing Mode, and different Types of Runs. The game also features lore, and there is a story with a few chapters.

Landgreen first worked on the games "Mech", "spacetime", "ballistics", and "portal", which are now seen as the predecessors to n-gon. There were then versions of the games "sidescroller" and "LandGame", before the first official version of n-gon came out in 2018. Check the history page for more info.
